Here’s some REALLY bad fairy-tale writing for you all today. Sitting on hold, being hungry, worrying about hubby, feeling tired and icky – all equal completely useless writings:
Once upon a time
In a land far, far away
There lived a princess
Whose prince was in a land

And then suddenly there was nothing
And she was sad.
There is a Jamaican quote, I am sure, regarding getting used to something only to ..read more

If you asked me what the trigger was for walking down memory lane today, I don’t think I could tell you. Since we haven’t been told which day exactly hubby is leaving, we sit and wait this week … wait for a phone call. One phone call that could come at any time – night or day – that will forever change our lives. It sounds dramatic, but I tell you that it is not untrue nor is it overstated. Coping: the Casing Ceremony was a bad way to leave you all hanging. I am fine. Hubby was marvelous. I collected myself and was able to stride through, head high. I’m still doing that. This is the last week. One full weekend left, a few hurried days next week and then that’ll be the end of that.
He slipped yesterday saying he told someone that he was excited at going … and I smiled. I KNOW he’s excited about going. I ..read more

Suddenly, there’s so much going on that I can barely keep up. Every single day this week has been one of those where I have been scrambling around trying to get everything done satisfactorily before hubby gets home so I can milk more time with him to the fullest.
Monday was probably the sanest of them all. Coincidentally, it was also the date of my last post.
Tuesday was madness, I got up and tried to get work done before taking hubby ..read more

His orders are sitting on the table. It’s a reality then. I guess I was thinking and hoping that something would come up and the whole thing gets cancelled or postponed … stupidly. It was a go the minute we got orders to report to this duty station way back in June of last year. The reality of seeing it in print … is staggeringly sobering. It’s an instant smile-wiper.
He is definitely going.
Frankly, aside from all-of-a-sudden sober, I am not ..read more
