Bad fairy tale piece

Here’s some REALLY bad fairy-tale writing for you all today. Sitting on hold, being hungry, worrying about hubby, feeling tired and icky – all equal completely useless writings:

Once upon a time In a land far, far away There lived a princess Whose prince was in a land Many leagues hence She would get word From him daily On how he was doing and What was happening. And then suddenly there was nothing And she was sad.

Counting down to departure day

Since we haven’t been told which day exactly hubby is leaving, we sit and wait this week … wait for a phone call. One phone call that could come at any time – night or day – that will forever change our lives. It sounds dramatic, but I tell you that it is not untrue nor is it overstated. Thoughts arriving on the 5:10am train from somewhere, stepping off the steps en route to somewhere else. There are the thoughts that are sitting around waiting for their train or bus to arrive so that they can leave for their destination. And the ones that are just arriving by ..read more

Why I won’t stifle my blog voice

The experts all say that the key to good blog content is to focus on a particular area of interest. Find a niche and carve out your real estate. Well, sort of. I’ve been looking at my own blog and wondering how to improve it. Don’t get me wrong, most of my faithful readers love reading and keeping up with my daily ramblings. However, I find I want to reach out to more than just my close friends. I ..read more
